Why Vancouver Is One Of The Best Cities To Live In North America?!

Reasons why Vancouver is one of the most ideal cities in North America are many. Ideal, for it’s relatively mild climate, for it’s beauty, for it’s culture, for investment, for it’s social services, and ideal for it’s people.

If you are looking for an ideal area to live, especially if you are not Canadian, you might want to consider Vancouver, British Colombia.

Vancouver, geographically situated on the far west corner of Canada in the beautiful province of British Colombia, profits from a mild climate thanks to the calm atmospheric conditions and effects of the pacific ocean. Vancouver not only enjoys its agreeable climate, but it freely displays its natural unparalleled beauty overlooking the Georgia Strait and scattered green islands. This third largest metropolitan boom town in Canada can easily pass for the most beautiful city in North America.

Vancouver has always attracted different cultures from around the world making it one of the most culturally rich ports in the world. Its overwhelmingly high Asian population that is notably conspicuous in the famous China town, and its European influence portrayed by a variety of exclusive shops and award winning restaurants that contribute to its tasteful and high class setting make up its diverse and enchanting culture.

These attributes make Vancouver one of the most ideal places in the world for investment as well. Its relatively steady real estate market and simple immigration laws for the wealthy bring many affluent investors to the area.

Now, to make things perfect, as a Vancouver resident you also get to profit from the highly organized and coveted universal medicine and social services it offers for all ages and breeds!

However, perhaps the most appealing reason why Vancouver is one of the most ideal cities in North America is the charm and kindness of its people. They are pleasant, courteous and receive you with open arms!

Sancerre – The Shining Star of the Loire Valley

If you asked me what was my most favorite white wine in the world, without contemplating or thinking it through, I would tell you Sancerre from the Loire valley in France.

Made with Sauvignon Blanc grape, this wine is so crisp and so refreshing that your taste buds would blossom and your mouth would water every time you think about it. It is the white wine to have with fish and sea food. It is the white wine to have period.

Sancerre is produced in the environs of the the city of Sancerre in the eastern part of the Loire valley and south east of Orlean. This area is well regarded for making wines of great purity and elegance, and when drinking Sancerre you can easily sense the great purity and distinguished elegance.

Sancerre comes in red and rose as well, but it is the Sancerre blanc that is the best and most famous. It emanates an aroma of grapefruit and white flowers. It is a wine that is nervous and dry, and which contains very low amount of sugar.

This wine reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood, optimizes the metabolism of lipids, carbohydrates and sugar in the body, and is one of the few wines that is permitted in case of diabetes and gout. The added healing virtues of this wine is another reason to drink it.

Sancerre accommodates well with goat cheese, especially Crotin de Chavignon which is native to the region and it is excellent with a variety of fishes and seafood, notably snow or king crab.

Remember, this wine can make you, your family and your friends very happy. Learn how to serve Sancerre and other amazing wines like it with the right food by visiting http://GastronomyGlobalNetwork.com. If you have a cellar, you need to have at least a couple of bottles of the shining star of the Loire valley in it. cheers!

The Principle Reason Red Wine is Recommended by Medical Doctors

Even though all the elements present in wine play an integral roll in the beneficial factors of wine, but the single most beneficial agent present in red wine that contributes more to health in your body than perhaps any other substance is polyphenol.

Micronutrients of wine are principally composed of minerals (calcium, magnesium, potassium) and polyphenolic substances.

Present in great amount in red wine, 2 to 4g per liter on average, polyphenols are a big family of natural substances or micronutrients that are in the roots, stems, leaves and flowers of all vegetable plants. For example red wine or green tea have a large amount of polyphenols. They are secreted by the plant and allow it to fight the attack of toxic microorganisms such as microscopic fungi. This antioxidant is mainly present in the skin of the grape and more present in some grapes than others, like Pinot Noir.

Resveratrol and Tannins that are famous for their therapeutic properties are part of the polyphenol family. Resrveratrol is of course claimed and proven in major laboratories to be effective in heart disease and cancer prevention and weight loss. It is also known to help lower blood sugar and boost the immune system and most importantly extend the life span. Tannins also have their therapeutic attributes. Existing in the skin and seeds of grapes, tannins confer to wines astringent properties, and they have been used for a long time for their anti diarrheic effect. Tannins are also phenolic molecules with anti wrinkle effects on the body.

These are the principle reasons why wine is such a favorite with the medical community. These health benefits contribute to a more healthy and balanced body, all thanks to this wondrous substance made available by the divine creation called polyphenol.

Remember that red wine is one of the highly recommended natural beverages by medical doctors. It’s therapeutic effects are vast and have been used by our ansester for centuries. Food and Wine Travel – Tours to Europe

My specialty in food and wine has always been in the European gastronomy.

I have been passionate about the regional dishes of France and Italy in particular, and that is one of the reasons I studied at the Cordon Bleu culinary school in Paris.

Many authentic regional dishes, specially from France and Italy represent the local cuisine and are part of the culture.

So, when you decide to visit Europe on a tour, to get the maximum benefit, in many ways, your best choice would be a food and wine tour or tours that emphasize on regional gastronomy.

This way, you not only get to visit your favorite regions in Europe, but you will get to learn and taste the fabulous regional and authentic foods, and wines to match them.

Often times these wines are readily available in your local markets at home, but because you are not familiar with them, you never get to taste them and really miss out on some of the best tasting international wines!

On the other hand, if you have been to the countries the wines come from, you have already been exposed to them. Because you just don’t go on any tour when you travel, you go on food and wine tours!

You see, that can be more beneficial to you, you not only become familiar with the countries you visit, but you absorb their cultures which consist of the customs, beliefs, foods and wines! You can now pass for a savvy cultural traveler who knows his food and wine!

To Europe For Authentic European Travel with Rick Steves

The are many organizations around the world that provide travel services and customized tours to Europe. Many of these services have very similar operational styles where you can not really discern a unique characteristic!

However, one service that truly stands out is “Europe Through The Back Door” run and operated by the Travel expert Rick Steves and his international team.

Why? Because Rick Steves has been dedicated to European travel for more than 20 years and he conducts and participates in many of the tours himself. He is not just another CEO that is sitting in his office in a metropolitan area teleconferencing his team ( although he might do that if necessary) around the world. No, he gets down and dirty if you will and travels to Europe himself every summer with his dedicated team.

He picks cute and authentic hotels and restaurants in historic districts of every city, town, or village his tour passes through, so that his clients can savor the real culture through the back doors of Europe, not just sight seeing per se.

His passion for Europe and European travel is specially conspicuous and revealing when it comes to food and wine. Notably in countries that are known for their fame of gastronomy like France and Italy. That is why he has food and wine consultants that enlighten him on the availability of regional dishes that would be a crime to overlook and pass by without trying. Equally wines that match those dishes and divulge their quality and excellent taste.

I had the opportunity to attend his 2010 annual tour event at his international headquarters in beautiful Edmonds, Washington in the United States. It was very educational indeed!

Remember that part of an authentic European travel is experiencing and savoring the local food and wines of each region. Get access to a complete European Gastronomy Manifesto by visiting http://GastronomyGlobalNetwork.com and become a more savvy traveler to Europe!

Wine Decanter For Maximum Enjoyment of Wine Tasting

The important fact that most average wine drinkers overlook is decanting their red wine before drinking it!

Decanting is important for several reasons, the most important of which is harmonizing all the flavors of the wine. The interaction between oxygen and wine gives the wine that has been sitting in its bottle a chance to breath and release its aromas (for younger wines a carafe is used to provide more oxygen faster).

But providing air does one more thing for the wine, it allows its flavors to break-in sort of speak.

Why use a decanter?

Well, number one when you use a decanter, you are supposed to take at least one minute time to pour the wine slowly in to the container ensuring that the sediments that are usually deposited on the bottom of the bottle are separated from the actual liquid and they remain in the bottle.

Number two, decanters are in general scientifically designed to provide and expose least amount of oxygen to the surface of the wine. Consequently, the consumer can enjoy the final results more effectively (for younger wines you’re better off using a carafe that provides more oxygen to the wine, or leaving it in the decanter longer).

Number three, which has to do more with mindset than anything else, decanters are stylish! They give you a subtle but psychologically an in vogue feeling that whether you like to admit it or not, it makes you feel good and it makes your wine tasting experience more enjoyable!.

Remember, it is all about making your wine drinking experience more enjoyable. Find out more about wine decanter and wine tasting at the food and wine tips and review by visiting http://GastronomyGlobalNetwork.com. Live stylishly my friend, because you deserve it!
